Glensol is proud to announce the successful completion of the major maintenance inspection of SOCAR-Uniper's Mitsubishi 16,000 kW back-pressure steam turbine (ST-702) and GE 702 turbine generator package.

As the first local company to win the tender for maintaining the Mitsubishi steam turbine package at the Azerkimya facility, Glensol has set a new benchmark for local expertise in Azerbaijan’s energy sector.Operated by SOCAR-Uniper, this facility plays a critical role in supporting SOCAR’s strategic objectives, supplying essential power and steam to the Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant.

The steam turbine serves as a cornerstone of the facility’s operations, transforming high-pressure, high-temperature steam into mechanical energy to drive generators and produce electricity. In addition to power generation, the turbine delivers process steam at specific pressures and temperatures to meet industrial demands, such as chemical processing and heating. This dual-purpose function ensures operational efficiency, energy cost reduction, and a steady supply of power and steam.

Previously, maintenance inspections for the Mitsubishi steam turbine package were handled exclusively by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Now, Glensol has successfully taken over this responsibility, demonstrating the strength of local expertise in executing critical maintenance operations.

The scope of the project included a comprehensive inspection of the turbine package—an essential task performed every 12 years to maintain optimal performance. Glensol completed the inspection successfully, reinforcing the company’s capability in handling high-stakes, technically complex projects.
